Melanin Garden is the first book from the nationally renowned Queensland Slam Poetry champion Anisa Nandaula. Melanin garden is a collection of Anisa Nandaula’s best slam poetry pieces. The works take readers into a boxing ring where an African Australian migrant fights with herself to come to peace with her identity whilst living in the diaspora. She uses language to paint a world that humanises migrants, refugees and minorities that are othered by society.
